New!! Ripon Alumni Tiger Staff Salute

The Ripon Alumni Tiger Staff Salute is an ongoing effort of the Ripon Education Foundation to celebrate the immediate and long-term positive impact of good teaching, counseling, coaching, and interaction with students in the district’s schools. Any current or former educator (teacher, coach, secretary, aide, custodian - anyone who works/ed in direct contact with students) may be nominated for the Tiger Staff Salute.

Alumni may nominate a current or retired educator who has had a positive impact on their learning, life choices, habits of mind, personal growth, and/or ability to overcome obstacles.

Announcement of the Tiger Staff Salute will be made on the Ripon Tiger Alumni - All Years Welcome!! Facebook group, the RASD Facebook page, and the Ripon Education Foundation Facebook page, allowing others to share their memories, stories, and best wishes with the person being recognized. This recognition will also be included on the Foundation website.

The Tiger Staff Salute will be published several times during the academic year (September through April). Annually, a plaque honoring the educators recognized during the year will be presented at the May RASD School Board meeting and displayed near the RASD Outstanding Alumni plaques in the Ripon High School.

Alumni may nominate a current or retired educator by completing a brief nomination form available here, on the Ripon Tiger Alumni - All Years Welcome!! Facebook group and the Ripon Education Foundation Facebook page. Nominators should tell the story of their interaction with the educator and how that influenced them positively at the time and/or subsequently.

Nominations will be reviewed by the Alumni Committee of the Foundation which will present candidates for  for approval by the REF Board of Directors. Since the primary criteria for this recognition is the impact of the educator’s work on individual students, review of nominations will focus on the story told by the individual nominator and how it reveals both the immediate and long-term value of the educator’s influence. Note: Number of nominations received will not typically be a factor in choosing people for this recognition.
